I am a therapist at ThriveWell Psychotherapy where our aim is to provide a warm and affirming space that focuses on individuals’ innate strengths and promotes self acceptance. Through a collaborative and interactive approach, we support our clients by exploring their emotional health and engaging in the change process, to reach their fullest potential. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship challenges, executive functioning concerns, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, life transitions, and transitions into and out of competitive athletics. I collaborate with my clients to determine which therapeutic strategies best meet their unique needs, goals, and preferences. Above all, I hope to create a warm, safe space where clients feel empowered to make lasting changes and ultimately achieve their goals. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, thrifting, cooking, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

The Grief & Bereavement Club is the worst club ever, and we all join it eventually – but it doesn't have to be the loss of a loved one that brings us there. My interest is in working with anyone going through a major life change or loss. Whether it's the loss of a person, a pet, a home, or a job, I want to work with you to learn how to live in this new reality of your life. I'm a therapist specializing in grief counseling for those experiencing loss of any kind, be it a loved one, a relationship, a profession, a home, a sense of self, or a terminal illness. Whatever brought you to therapy, I don't care. I'm just glad you're here. I'm honored to be part of your journey, whatever you wish to work on. My goal as a therapist is to help you navigate whatever has brought us together. For those experiencing grief or facing the end of life, we may draw on approaches like Meaning Making, Dignity Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and even Play Therapy. No matter the modality, we’ll look at therapy as a collaborative exercise, and work together to find what you respond to. We'll approach your journey from session to session. Some weeks you may need structure, other times you may just need to be in the moment with someone who listens. We're going to roll with it together, and you can expect some levity along the way. There are so many serious things that bring people to this room; sometimes a little laughter makes all the difference. Before becoming a therapist, I volunteered at domestic abuse emergency shelters and worked as a padded instructor for women's self-defense companies. After a series of personal losses, I found I had gained fluency in the language of grief, and felt called to be of service to those experiencing their own. I've been a martial artist since I was five years old, with belts in Krav Maga, Tang Soo Do, and Eskrima. You'll often find me on the subway reading my book of the month, usually on the way to a theater, a convention, or a renaissance fair.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. You may only know that something feels difficult, that a familiar way of coping is no longer working, or that you want your life or relationships to feel different. In therapy, we work together to understand the thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and experiences shaping your struggles. As a therapist, I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and major life transitions. I'll help you build practical coping and emotional regulation skills, approach yourself with greater self-compassion, clarify your values, and respond to challenges with more flexibility and intention. The goal is to strengthen self-trust and create changes that feel meaningful, realistic, and sustainable. I believe meaningful change becomes possible when you feel understood enough to be honest and supported enough to try something new, and my role is to be that steady, compassionate, and active partner as you make sense of what you're carrying and recognize the patterns shaping your choices. We can begin where you are and work toward greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and meaningful change in everyday life. Working with me is warm, collaborative, and active. I create space for you to feel heard while also helping you look honestly at patterns that may be contributing to your distress. In our sessions, I ask thoughtful and sometimes direct questions, offer practical tools, and gently challenge avoidance, self-criticism, black-and-white thinking, or familiar responses that are no longer serving you. Together, we slow down reactions, explore what lies beneath them, and distinguish productive problem-solving from worry or rumination. My approach balances insight with action: we build emotional awareness, strengthen coping and regulation skills, clarify your needs and values, and practice more flexible ways of responding. The goal is not perfection, but greater self-trust and meaningful change. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by more than two decades of experience across countries, careers, cultures, and life roles. Before entering the mental health field, I worked as a lawyer, filmmaker, nonprofit leader, and mother. Moving through these different identities gave me a deep appreciation for how complex and nonlinear life can be, especially when a relationship, career, identity, or familiar way of living begins to change. These experiences strengthened my commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive care grounded in the realities of each person's life. I bring curiosity, steadiness, and respect for the many parts of each patient's story to my practice now, along with an appreciation for the courage it takes to question familiar patterns and begin again. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, writing, and exploring how stories help us understand ourselves and one another. I also value time with my family, which helps me slow down, remain curious, and stay connected to what matters most.

When you’re ready to seek support, I am here to help you take the first step. As a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW) with an eclectic approach, I work with emerging adults, bicultural individuals, and those dealing with life transitions navigate stress and anxiety, self-esteem issues, identity issues, academic struggles, relationship problems, and making sense of past experiences. I aim to create space for you to process emotions and thoughts about past experiences and take away core strengths and values that empower you in your future life. My approach starts with collaboration and pulls from a relationship of mutual respect and trust to engender your lasting growth and self-discovery. In our time together, you can expect a dynamic and non-judgmental environment where we change approaches to fit your needs and work to get closer to emotional truths. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic modalities, and other therapeutic approaches to help you get to the roots of your beliefs and behaviors. At all times, I believe in honesty and transparency, helping me to connect warmly and be present to you. I look forward to helping you find acceptance and balance throughout our sessions. My experience as a bicultural person navigating corporate and academic spaces drove me to become a therapist who helps individuals understand their values and identities separate from judgements of those around them. After witnessing members of my community become increasingly disconnected from themselves, I became deeply committed to providing a validating and respectful processing space on the road to each person's journey of self-actualization. When I’m not working, I love indulging in my hobbies – getting lost in a good book, playing board games, and exploring new cuisines!

Hi, I’m Lilia (she/her), and with you, I create a space to explore who you are, how you relate, and who you’re becoming. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have gotten lost along the way. I root my practice of therapy in curiosity and compassion for the ways our experiences, relationships, and environments influence how we cope, connect, and make meaning. I support people navigating the intersections of culture, ethnicity, language, and identity, and the ways these experiences shape how we understand ourselves and move through the world. My lens is shaped by my work with adults and older adults from diverse backgrounds, experiencing grief, anxiety, burnout, relational challenges, and life transitions. I integrate connection-based care with practical therapeutic tools, tailoring our work to your needs, values, and goals. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply curious about yourself and ready for something to shift, I'm here to support your process and change. I warmly welcome you to reach out.

As a first or second generation BIPOC person, do you feel like you are stuck between family expectations, your own dreams, and your own needs? As someone who may be defined as “other” are you having to constantly code switch or suppress who you really are to move between different contexts? Do you feel like you are constantly over giving to the point of not having time or resources to yourself? All of this can easily make you feel depressed, anxious, drained in your relationships, and unfulfilled. My clients come to me in the states that I just described and after working with me report living a life that reflects their values on all levels, a more empowered ability to take up space in the world as a BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+ person, and ability to ask for and receive more in their relationships. I take the time to get to know my clients and work in a way that empowers them to identify and dissolve old narratives that are keeping them stuck in unsatisfying relationships or situations through an approach that is both conversational and dives deep. If you resonate, I would love to hear from you for a free initial consultation call.

With more than four years of experience in private practice and state-contracted non-profit settings, I provide individual therapy to adults and adolescents, both in person and virtually. Having navigated my own personal and parenting challenges, I bring humility and authenticity to this work, and I see struggle as space for growth, learning, and discovery. My clinical approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and family systems therapy, which I use to support parents with skill development and behavior management, strengthen emotional regulation and connection, and help you build sustainable systems of support. Creativity and self-expression are also powerful tools I draw on for connection and healing. My work is deeply rooted in family systems and multidisciplinary collaboration, as I value working within the context of your family and broader support networks, because meaningful progress happens when care is coordinated and holistic. Persistence, clear communication, patience, and problem-solving skills guide that work, helping families break generational patterns and create individualized action plans. Across both private practice and state-contracted non-profit settings, in person and virtual, the purpose behind my work has remained the same: offering you thoughtful, individualized support through collaborative, patient-centered care. I'm a mother of two and a beginner gym enthusiast, who loves plants, nature, and the arts.

My style is flexible and collaborative, because no two people are alike, and your care shouldn't be either. This belief has been shaped and strengthened across a range of settings, from higher education and hospitals to pediatric clinics, with each experience deepening my commitment to versatile, compassionate, and individualized care. Working across these environments, I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact that change can have, not only on an individual, but on everyone around them. That perspective informs every session. I specialize in helping people who have OCD, phobias and insomnia. It's very common for these problems to emerge in college, which can add immense pressure to an already intense time of life. Many people who struggle with these issues are very functional in other ways, and work hard to hide their pain. You may be used to solving problems on your own, and you might ask yourself "What's wrong with me? Why can't I fix this" when your usual strategies haven't helped. In our work together, I can help you understand why you keep getting stuck, and find a way to break free. My clients with OCD are smart, conscientious people who want to do the right thing. The things that they fear feel like very real possibilities to them, and they feel like it would be irresponsible to just ignore them. They want someone to tell them that everything is going to be okay, but when someone says that, they have a hard time believing it. They might go back and forth between feeling like other people are in denial about the terrible things that can happen in life, and feeling angry with themselves for not being able to stop spiraling. My treatment approach to OCD is very sensitive to these aspects of OCD. We don’t put energy into determining probabilities or disputing whether or not something is possible. Instead, we help you learn to trust in your own ability to distinguish between real world problems that deserve your time and attention, and OCD created problems that don’t need to be (and can’t be) solved because they are based on a believable, but false story. Once you feel confident that you can tell the difference between these two kinds of problems, you won’t feel the need to seek reassurance or do compulsions. People with specific phobias spend a lot of time and energy trying to avoid the thing that they fear. They are often very creative at finding work-arounds! At the same time, they might also feel limited by their phobias, and wish to seek help. Unfortunately, they might also have an impression that therapy will be like a sadistic game show, where they are forced to come into contact with something terribly frightening. This is not the case! Therapy for phobias is all about education and increasing your sense of self-efficacy and self-acceptance. We go at your pace, with the goal of helping you live your life freely. When you have insomnia, most advice about sleep is not helpful. You probably feel like you know more about sleep than anyone, and yet you still find yourself awake all night and exhausted all day. In therapy, I will listen to you and help you understand why you have been unable to sleep well. Then we will create a plan that actually helps you sleep!
