For 30+ years, I've helped adults recover from complex trauma, developmental and attachment trauma, narcissistic and psychopathic abuse, addictive disorders, emotional neglect and chronic relationship difficulties. My clients are insightful, motivated individuals struggling with codependency, dissociation, or the lasting effects of childhood trauma. Through trauma-informed psychodynamic therapy we identify and transform the survival patterns that once protected you but now limit your life. Healing fosters regulation and safety, allowing the parts of yourself exiled by fear, neglect, betrayal, and chronic adaptation to be reclaimed. I integrate psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed therapy with attachment theory, somatic awareness, neuroscience, mindfulness, and spiritual exploration. My goal is not simply symptom relief, but helping you create a cohesive, authentic life aligned with your deepest values and fullest potential. Therapy is a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, compassion and respect. Together we excavate the deeper origins of your emotional suffering while developing practical tools for nervous system regulation, healthier relationships, and lasting change. Even when trauma has shaped your life new patterns of safety, connection, and vitality can emerge.
College brings a mix of new freedom, academic pressure, shifting relationships, and questions about who you want to become. If you are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, mood changes, relationship stress, or the challenges of adjusting to college life, you deserve support that helps you feel understood and steady again. I offer a warm and collaborative space where you can talk openly about what you are experiencing while feeling supported to grow in ways that are both meaningful and sustainable. My goal is to understand you fully, help you reconnect with your strengths, and work with you to create a life that feels more manageable and more aligned with who you want to be. My approach is grounded in evidence-based care. I integrate DBT-informed treatment, CBT, relational therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies to help you understand the patterns and experiences that shape you while also building practical skills. Together, we focus on emotional regulation, coping tools, communication, boundary setting, academic stress management, and the internal pressures that often surface during college. Therapy is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to your needs so you can make real and lasting change. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults in settings where emotional well-being and academic demands overlap. Alongside my private practice, I work at a specialized therapeutic high school where I support students managing stress, perfectionism, identity development, and transitions into college and adulthood. In this role, I coordinate DBT programming, provide training and consultation to faculty, and oversee the integration of skills into the broader school culture. I also supervise doctoral trainees, which reflects my commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care and to training the next generation of clinicians.

Let’s challenge the stigma of seeking mental health supports and getting better connected with yourself. The mission at Be Seen is to provide high-quality psychotherapy services to individuals who are experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties that can disrupt emotional, physical, social, or vocational areas of functioning. We want to strive for personal fulfillment, empowerment, to educate, and enhance your agency through life.
My passion is helping people improve their relationships and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I enjoy working with people who are curious about how they experience the world, and who are facing challenges with major life transitions, relationships, creativity, and gender/sexuality. My approach to treatment is warm and eclectic. Therapy is a space to be curious and challenge yourself without judgment. I hope to engage you in an exploratory process to get to the root of what has been troubling you. People often find themselves caught in longstanding, unconscious patterns that show up in many areas of their lives. By working together to identify what these patterns are and how they do or don't serve you, we can create more space in your life for freedom and choice to live as you desire. Good therapy is most of all about a good fit between you and your therapist. I believe you can best gauge our fit by meeting with me, and so I offer a free 15-minute consultation for you to get a feel for how I work, and to bring forth your questions and concerns. I look forward to getting started!
As a therapist, I focus on creating a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself and work through life’s challenges at your own pace. I have a background in supporting clients through a range of challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and trauma. When I’m not working, you’ll find me petting my cats (Avo & Loki), getting out in nature, being with loved ones, or getting lost in an art project. As a therapist, I tailor sessions to meet the unique needs of each client. In sessions, I focus on creating a good vibe while helping to explore strategies to help you cope or work toward your goals. I am part of a therapy practice called Resolute Mental Health, which has a dedicated team available to help with insurance and administrative support. We also offer psychiatry services at Resolute if a referral is needed! Please feel free to reach out if you would like to work together :)

I am Katy, a Psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience in mental health and social services on both coasts. I believe all human beings deserve to live a life that is rich and full and free of suffering, and that this requires lots of work, and lots of help. While you may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or the effects of traumas that leave you struggling to cope, you also carry with you inner wisdom and strengths and skills waiting to be developed. I believe that every person has a lifelong capacity for change, and that you deserve healing. I am passionate about helping adolescents and young adults find their footing in the world, supporting women who are navigating the effects of trauma and systemic violence, and empowering LGBTQIA+ individuals to find freedom and safety. I utilize tools from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, and also challenge you to try out new perspectives and skills, develop new insights, and explore new boundaries. The first step is reaching out. On the outside, it might look like you have everything together. You’re responsible, thoughtful, and trying your best to move forward in life. But inside, you may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or constantly second-guessing yourself. Maybe anxiety, overthinking, or self-criticism make it hard to trust your decisions. Many of my clients feel pressure to figure out their careers, relationships, and identity all at once. You may feel lost, burned out, or unsure of your next step, but you’re ready to understand yourself better and start building a life that actually feels right for you. I offer a warm but direct approach that blends CBT and DBT tools to help you manage anxiety, build confidence, and break unhelpful patterns. Therapy with me isn’t just about talking — it’s about learning practical skills to regulate emotions, challenge self-criticism, set boundaries, and move forward with clarity. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're used to handling everything on your own. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s holding you back, and begin making meaningful changes. If you're ready to feel more grounded and confident in your life, I’d be happy to connect.
I believe therapy is a supportive space where you don’t have to face challenges alone. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, navigate change, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Using a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach, I support children and adults through anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, parenting challenges, and life transitions. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University and am passionate about helping clients heal, grow, and thrive.
The students I work best with are often juggling a lot—classes, exams, relationships, family expectations, jobs, and the constant pressure to “have it all figured out.” If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, unmotivated, or just not like yourself lately, you’re not alone. College can be exciting, but it can also be lonely and stressful in ways people don’t always talk about. In our sessions, you’ll have a space where you can be real—no judgment, no pressure, just honest conversations about what’s going on and practical tools to help you cope. Whether you’re struggling with stress, burnout, confidence, friendships, or big life decisions, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, clear, and in control. If you’re ready for support that actually fits your life as a student, I’d love to help you take that next step.
