Hi there! My name is Rachel (she/her), and I specialize in supporting young adults who might be navigating mood and anxiety, identity, OCD and eating disorders. You deserve a nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully, explore your identity, strengths and challenges, and above all, be seen and validated. If transportation is a barrier or you resonate with a less formal approach to therapy, I offer community-based, in-home and outdoor therapy options as well.
Grounded, Compassionate and Practical Therapy I work with people navigating change, loss, grief, relationship changes, identity shifts, and the quiet moments when life no longer fits the way it used to. These are tender, often disorienting seasons, and you don’t have to move through them alone.
Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. For the “weirdos,” “misfits,” seekers and dreamers. Those who feel invisible, not enough, alone or like you are not able to be fully you and still be loved. The people who find solace in books and music, and intimate conversations. Who deeply feel there is something more or a better world possible. For people who feel both at home and alone in solitude. You’re not wrong for holding contradictions and it makes sense if the world feels at times both too heavy to bear and so full of magic and wonder. Have you been told that the way you experience the world is "too much" or you are "too sensitive?" Maybe you feel like you have a breadth of awareness and understanding but don't experience the solace you are longing for. Or that you have had to hide parts of yourself to belong, only to feel more disconnected. Imagine a life where you feel connected, alive and able to embrace the fullness and vastness of who you are. Where your energy can move towards things outside of the performance of being acceptable. I view therapy as quiet work; where the small and sometimes big shifts, hold the power to change what is possible for all of us. I will be with you as you gain clarity around your own wisdom and knowing; deconstruct the unhelpful stories you hold about yourself; and I will always sit with you through discomfort, dis-ease, celebration and joy. I work from modalities and techniques that are rooted in story telling and visualization (Narrative, IFS); and body based awareness and nervous system regulation (Somatic).
If you are ready to engage fully in therapy to gain meaningful insights, develop coping skills, and create lasting positive change, then I am here for you. As a person-centered mental health therapist, I help young adults navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, and stressors related to identity, values, and self-discovery. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to create a supportive space where you can explore your goals, build resilience, and develop strategies to manage all of life’s challenges while living more authentically. You deserve an empathetic, understanding, and empowering partner in care. Contact me today to start your healing journey with a therapist focused on transforming your mental health. I believe in supporting you with compassion and respect for your autonomy, which helps me be a collaborative and understanding partner in care. In our work together, you can expect a safe, non-directive, and trustworthy environment that helps you explore yourself and identify values you can live by. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals, build resilience, and create meaningful change through person-centered, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other tailored therapeutic approaches. As a former NCAA Division I athlete, I offer a unique perspective in supporting individuals, including athletes navigating both mental health and performance-related challenges. This perspective was built upon my own experience in seeking help for challenges as a college athlete, including anxiety and burnout after an injury, one that deepened my commitment to providing the unconditional, nonjudgmental care everyone deserves. In my practice now, I remain dedicated to bringing warmth, kindness, and understanding to each session, creating a space where you can explore and grow at your own pace. Staying active is important for the mind, body, and soul, whether I’m in or out of the office. When I’m not working, you’ll most often find me out on a run, spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee.
I believe in the inherent worth of each person – a value that can be easier to understand than to apply to us in practice, but progress is best achieved when starting from a foundation of self-acceptance. That’s where I come in. I am a therapist specializing in emotional and somatic processing, parts work, and Mindfulness-based interventions for those with complex trauma, identity issues, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and more. These struggles may seem impossible to overcome, especially when compounded by the adversity of marginalization, identity struggles, or abuse. My mission is to help you feel whole by building skills, developing self-esteem and healthy attachment, and processing your burdens so they can be put down. This includes attuning to the body, calming the nervous system, finding meaning in life, and healing with the compassion and clarity of the true Self. I am here to be a witness, a companion in your journey, and a fellow human being who truly cares. My approach blends Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention skills with Internal Family Systems-based parts work and guided meditation to release trauma and foster self-compassion. In doing so, you learn to make sense of your experiences within the systems around you and foster healing through connection to self, others, and community. Sessions with me sound like: "What was that look there?" "That made me feel a wave of grief. Did you?" "Let’s pause, if that's okay ... Just breathe into the feeling." "All of your emotions are valid, but not all your thoughts are true." "I have some skills for this..." "Let’s talk to this part of you... What does it need? What protects you from?” Above all, treatment should be intentional and built on trust. If this resonates, let’s discuss what you’re looking for together. During my own therapy journey, I learned what it truly meant to “feel your feelings.” At first, the advice seemed absurd; I thought I felt too much. Over time, though, I learned that most of us are never taught how to process emotions or how to let them go. As a Latina and member of the LGBTQ+ and disabled communities, I have often felt misunderstood within therapeutic spaces, and this journey taught me the power of accessing and overcoming emotions holding us back. My work is shaped by these experiences, and I strive to offer inclusive care that centers around each person’s unique strengths and needs. When I am not providing therapy, I love to read fantasy books, write poetry, and make art. Dancing and playing sports in the park are also some of my favorite activities, especially with festive drinks and snacks, and some friends.
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or disconnected? You’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work best with college and graduate students who are carrying a lot on their shoulders, even if it doesn’t always show on the outside. Many of the students I support are struggling with anxiety, stress, or burnout. They may be navigating big life transitions like starting college, transferring, or getting close to graduation. Some are dealing with family stress, relationship challenges, or attachment issues. Others are carrying the impact of past trauma or loss. Many feel disconnected from themselves and unsure of who they are or what direction they want to take. You might look high-functioning on the outside but feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or numb on the inside. You may be the one everyone depends on, yet you rarely feel supported yourself. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place. My approach is warm, grounded, and trauma-informed. That means we go at your pace, focus on helping your nervous system feel safer, and work on real-life tools you can actually use between sessions. You do not need to have the right words or a clear goal before starting. Showing up as you are is enough. If you are a student who wants to feel more steady, more connected, and more like yourself again, I would love to support you.
As an Asian American female with immigrant parents, navigating being a minority, assimilating into society and finding my cultural identity was a difficult time in my life. Unresolved childhood trauma and attachment issues are root causes that make us who we are - but that doesn’t mean we can’t work to change those maladaptive patterns you learned growing up… Do you also experience generational and childhood trauma, cultural expectations that don’t always align with societal norms, low self-worth and people pleasing behaviors? Do you want to change the way you react when your feelings get the best of you? Do you want to figure out the root cause of your anxiety or depression and heal your hurt inner child? Stop the cycle and be the first one in your family to start this healing journey. I’ll challenge and support you to help identify triggers, behaviors and feelings connected to past relationships or experiences in order to change the patterns that hinder you from being your best self. The heart of Being Alive Counseling is to journey with you through everyday issues, as well as deeper addictions and trials, towards wholeness and healing. We love to help in life transitions, to clean up the mental mess and believe it can be good again! I have specialty training in: Addiction, Domestic Violence, EMDR (for trauma, PTSD, addiction), Cognitive Behavioral & Narrative therapy. I can offer a dynamic counseling room where you are able to go to places you know you need to go but haven't quite been able to before. I will work with you to find a treatment plan that fits your specific goals and needs. I believe in holistic healing in counseling and treatment. I believe that everything including finances, eating patterns, sleep cycles, family of origin, job satisfaction, nutrition, exercise, support system, as well as identity and sense of purpose are all integrated into the "why's" of our struggles. I believe I create a safe space to explore and heal.
What if getting better didn't mean spending years talking about everything that's ever gone wrong? I work with college and grad students to build real, lasting change by providing insight and skills that actually help. With over a decade of clinical work in the US and abroad, I've helped young adults manage anxiety, quiet the perfectionism and imposter syndrome that follow them into every exam and internship, while creating a healthy type of confidence that remains under pressure. My clients describe working with me as supportive, direct, collaborative, and nothing like what they expected therapy to be. We figure out what's driving the pattern. Then we work on changing it. I specialize in: anxiety, burnout and stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. My approach pulls from CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, grounded in a trauma-informed model. You don't have to have it figured out to start. Currently offering Online Therapy throughout Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Florida. Whether you are in Boston, NYC, or Denver, I am ready when you are.
I believe that therapy can help us to move toward greater self-understanding, empowerment, and fulfillment. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic space in which you and I can collaboratively process through thoughts, feelings, and experiences with openness and compassion. So often societal messages and stigmas can cause us to view our behaviors with shame and judgment, which can lead us to feel even more stuck. My goal is to support you in slowing down, shifting toward curiosity and compassion, and feeling empowered to make the changes that you seek. I am a believer that we are all interconnected. Our relationships matter most to our wellbeing. And while we are living in a time where we are easily able to connect with one another, we have also never been so isolated and alone. The messages we receive from our greater systems often are at odds with what I know contribute to our wellbeing. Because of that we can often feel stuck, less than, or constantly hustling for “that thing.” We can end up chasing the wrong thing and find ourselves perpetually behind or inadequate. Our culture often places so much emphasis on outcomes, appearance, and external or material things. I sincerely believe that they are often at the root of our unhappiness. We often are doing the thing we think will help us but it ultimately harms us! We are doing it wrong. Together we will explore the often painful and uncomfortable spaces within and work from an Inside-Out approach. In doing so, we find that the storms tend to be more universal, we see our common humanity, we develop more self compassion and compassion and empathy for others. When we are our authentic selves, we become more free and our sessions will include plenty of laughing even as we dive into the parts that feel hard. We were never meant to do this life alone. And yet – so many of us are often sold on false narratives that “it’s just you” or have been invalidated, shamed, or traumatized by oppressive systems on the larger scale or within our own homes. My pride in the work is to help you become your best self, the one who is not merely living, but the one who is truly alive. Feeling it all, skin in the game, open to heartbreak, receptive to joy. Facing our pain is not easy (I know this well!). But I know deeply that when we do the right kind of hard, our efforts are fruitful beyond measure. Let’s face this together.
Hi, I’m Sarah, the therapist at Flying Sparrow Therapy. I work with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. I think therapy should be a place where you can show up as your authentic self and process whatever is on your mind. I am neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming.
I have over 20 years of working with college students in both counseling and pastoral care contexts.
I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story , and making sense of all that ails you. I feel that medications can provide relief for biological psychiatric conditions, but most of the long term relief comes from working through and reworking unhealthy behavioral patterns. Treating Psychiatric conditions is an art that requires balancing the medical treatments with looking at unconscious maladaptive behaviors. Once patterns are identified, the work we do will lead to change. I take the approach of meeting clients where they are at and working together in a relational model to reprocess and work through trauma. I have 25 years of experience treating all psychiatric conditions in men and women across the lifespan. I have specialized in women's issues, including mood disorders at the onset of menses, eating disorders, medication management during pregnancy, grief issues around infertility, menopause, and trauma. I enjoy working with clients who have struggled to get optimal treatment. My approach is to get to know you, your developmental history, and current life stressors. I also assess biologic contributors and genetics. This combined understanding of you can guide more effective treatment recommendations.

I specialize in working with individuals struggling with weight loss and weight management. I provide an alternative strategy to weight loss based on cognitive therapy that allows people to change their life and their relationship with food, instead of just dieting. Treatment focuses on emotional eating, restructuring routines, and utilizing self-talk to help instead of sabotage. As a licensed personal training, I am also able to provide customized workout programs for clients to coincide with their weight management program. No more dieting! I also am a Certified Insomnia Treatment Clinician and offer 6-week online group treatment programs for insomnia! In addition, I specialize in working with individuals with self-esteem and anxiety issues as well as numerous other concerns, including body image, relationship issues, and parenting. I also have 2 post-graduate interns working with me that are able to offer lower cost options. Please email me or check out my website for all of the details on my different program offerings!
